Bonjour,

I think this is the first time we propose a compilation environment for 64-bit Gimp Windows.

In this environment it is possible to compile:
- Plug-ins for Gimp.
- BABL, GEGL, GIMP.
- G'MIC
- Libraries.
- Etc.

This environment uses the latest libraries (jpeg 9, glib ...), a compiled version of Gimp 2.8.6 and you can download the sources from GIT.

I propose the 64-bit environment from this link :
http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/divers.html

The volume uncompressed is about 2 GB.

You need to unpack "petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28.7z" in the directory C:\
The instructions are in the text "Readme_petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28.txt" file.
This file contains examples of compilation.
This environment runs on Windows 64-bit versions. A part of this environment can be used in Linux for cross-compiling with mingw-w64 (not tested).

Files "C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28\msys\etc\fstab" and "C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28\msys\etc\profile" containing all the parameters of the installation.

I will give some examples when new plug-ins will be created.

I use it on my PC no virtual machine required.

Rod, I downloaded, unzipped and read the instructions, but I'm also lost because it seems (from the examples provided) that one has to input a series of complex commands (somehow tricky for a windows user) and I did not find a kind of "copy and paste" method, which maybe for many of you is simple and obvious, so I couldn't try even to simply repeat the compilation of vignetting...

i didn't try yet but as for copy and paste the solution may simply be add shift
I mean instead than CTRL_C ; CTRL_SHIFT_C , to copy from console and CTRL_SHIFT_V to paste there

And if i remember well you may also use copy or paste from the mouse RIGHT click menu

many thanks, Samj, excellent info!
first of all I learned how to "paste" into the console
then, going also through your many explanations on the previous subject concerning 32-bits environment- and especially the one related to "how to compile cartoonizer" - I succeeded in compiling both cartoonizer and vignetting (applying the same technique of creating a specific folder and adapting the makefile)
you are an angel

edit: it seems I'm unable to insert correctly the smiley, anyhow it's the one clapping and jumping....!

Bonjour,

Compiling GAP (from GIT).

Open the MSYS terminal by clicking C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28\start_MSYS.bat
In the MSYS terminal typing the following lines. Press the "Enter" key at the end of each line :
cd /env
git clone git://git.gnome.org/gimp-gap
cd /env/gimp-gap
./autogen.sh --prefix=/mingw --build=x86_64-w64-mingw32 --disable-libavformat --disable-libmpeg3 --disable-libxvidcore --disable-audio-support-sdl --disable-audio-support-wavplay
make
make install
exit

Binaries are in "C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28\base\c\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins"
Start Gimp by clicking on the file : "C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28\start_Gimp-2.8.6-64bit.bat"
"Video" menu is available.
