yesterday i made a picture very similar to this as a birthday card for one of my brothers in law (usually i make one version without the real name for gimp chat and one version with the real name for the recipient, but yesterday i was in a hurry, so i remade the image today instead).
i thought it turned out rather nice, reminds me of super hero movies a bit, so i call it the super gimp :).

(once again i should give erisian credit for some help. he suggested using lighting effects and a bump map to bring some life into a ratehr dead looking background)

It must have killed you to not use pink!
I like this a lot! It looks a little like pulled wires in the background or something, quite interesting effect!

Good work! :D

mokonafan: hehe, i can survive without pink, but only for short moments! my brother in law is a very nice man and i appreciate him very much, but one of his bad sides is that he can't stand pink fluffy things. :(

conbagui: thank you :)! no, i could never have a card making business, i like making the cards personal.

sallyanne: thanks, sister :)!

I loved the background AnMal :bigthup . It reminded my of scouring in coloured candle wax.
I feel the lighting effects have may have eliminated some of the word Gimp's ghosting. :(

Have you received feedback from the brother-in-law yet?

So I shouldn't expect a Christmas card from him then? :hehe

PS @Sallyanne: I just noticed your new Avatar :bigthup
