Hello.
A year ago, I had huge problems when I tried to install Gimp 2.8 from Gimpusers.com and SourceForge (both English-speaking pages ) but Gimp installed with swedish language I do not ask for. I try to change the language to English at the Gimp preference but Gimp dont let me do that. After many attempts I tried to download Gimp from a different page and then it worked with Gimp English. I don't remember what page I downloaded it from. Do you know where to look.

Today I tried to upgrade to Gimp 2.8.6 but I land up with the same irritating problem as one year ago.

Image

After downloading procedure Gimp lands up at my dock

Image

But not in english. Why.

Image

When I try to open up those pattern and fonts nothing happen. Why

Image

Do you know where I can find an English -speaking Gimp for macusers.
I no longer see where to download Bling Bling script fu.
I run on a iMac mid 2011 10.8.5 64 bits
Thanks
Lurifax.

This happened to me on this laptop (which used to be AnMal's) There is a file in Gimp's directories that has a list of languages on and we found out that the only way to switch to English was to delete all other languages from that file. I will have a look to find which file it is for you.

I use the mcgimp from Partha's site...partha's place. It is easy to install and works great! It is specifically made for osx and has the most popular plug-ins already in the file.

Lurifax.

The crash shows that you are missing a basic library which is included with McGimp 2.8. Is it possible your download was corrupted by any chance? If you wish to solve this issues, please IM me or leave me a message on my website.

Thanks,
Partha

Thank you partha.
I have not worked with Gimp for about a year and therefore forgotten how to install the software. Now it looks like everything is working.
Your downloads seams to be more easy to manages than others.
Thanks for that.
Lurifax.
