I was creating a block of aged Swiss cheese and ended up with this 'side product' :hoh
I am a terrible cook. Don't really know what to do with that. Un oeuf au plat, maybe?

That can be so many things, egg yolk Yellow ball, the end of a yellow marker, make text from it and the list could go on. It is very shiny and looks so nice and wet. nice job Kit as usual.
What about a cheese omelette... :bigthup

I don't know if I actually see a yolk, but the overall image is superb. :bigthup

Both are great. Love, love that yolk. You need to surround that yolk with cooked egg white for a sunny side up egg.

It looks a bit too glassy to be a yolk but the cheese is astounding. Beautiful work!

Thanks everyone.
I'll probably do as Oregonian suggested.
I don't know if it's too glassy, I've certainly looked at the real raw egg (it's still on a plate in my kitchen)

this is a photograph from the net.

how do I improve my yolk?

It's a touch too perfect and I can't see a real yolk giving a strong yellow reflection on the table. Rough it up a little. :)

Less gloss but still glassy, isn't it?
I think the glassy look will appear more natural after I add more stuff around it.

I think you're right but that is definitely an improvement.

Hey Erisian, don't be so fussy. What if she puts the egg whites behind it. :teeth

Makes a change for me to be fussy Mo  I think it looks great now but context will help and I know how capable K1Te is. :)

K1Te,for what it's worth, I think the egg looks great . I always like it when someone makes an image of a real thing. There is no room for error or luck. Either it is or it is not and that to me is an egg. Great job! The cheese looks good as well but has an slightly artificial look to it. Perhaps it needs a bit more variance in the colour and grain. Perhaps,a bit too perfect?

Nice work on the egg and the cheese, personally I prefer the first image of the yolk.

As someone who enjoys eating a little too much, OK, compulsively, I'm impressed with both images.

Nice realism. Perhaps it could be a little better with some imperfections, especially in the spherical/circular outline of the yolk. Sometimes, it's the small imperfections that add needed realism to a digital image (or a digital sound).

Thanks for the comments guys!
It may sound improbable but I agree with everyone.

Cheese is still WIP [you can see that I'm not even done with all the holes yet] and
will be just one out of many objects in the future scene.

Egg yolk wasn't even on my mind until afternoon earlier today. Not sure if it will see further life,
I tend to abandon half of my projects.
