Bonjour,

Subject: Compilation G'MIC and G'MIC-Gimp plug-in on 64-bit Windows.

If you want to compile these items simply download and install the build environment (version 6 and above) from the link http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/divers.html and use a small script.
(Delete or save the old environment before installation)

The script in the build environment will create two directories and 1 archive :
- Directory G'MIC-Gimp plug-in = GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64bit-WIN
- Directory G'MIC = GMIC-64bit-WIN
- Archive = gmic_gmic-gimp_win64.tar.xz
- The sources used are from GIT, we must have an active Internet connection to create this set.

Use :
Click "start_MSYS.bat".
Enter the two command lines that follow:
cd /env
./compile_gmic_and_gmic-gimp_plugin_64_win.sh

70 operations are performed. You must be very patient and wait for the message "FIN - END".

All DLLs are in subdirectories.

To validate G'MIC-Gimp:
- Delete the old "gmic_gimp.exe" file
- Via preferences Gimp validate the GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64bit-WIN directory (Edit > Preferences > Folders > Plug-Ins , ... , OK)
- Quit Gimp.
- Start Gimp, GMIC is available.

For G'MIC command line version:
- DLLs and executable files are in GMIC-64bit-WIN
- Start the terminal by clicking "Start_Terminal_With_Test_GMIC.bat".
- You can test and execute command lines.

The archive "gmic_gmic-gimp_win64.tar.xz"
- This archive contains the two directories created.
- You can make a double extraction via 7Zip.
- I have not used the format .7z because I have not found an easy way to not block the computer using too much memory.

Tests
- An example of the result of the compilation (GIT October 31, 2013) is available from this link:
http://www.aljacom.com/~gmic/gmic_gmic- ... n64.tar.xz

Ahh; so if I replace the environment that I have now with this one, I can be able to compile both 64-bit GIMP plugin and 64-bit stand-a-lone command version. Cool. Going to download this one now samj; thanks a heap. :)

Bonjour,

:tyspin

@Lylejk

If you want to compile binaries for SourceForge I advise you to use the script in the archive :)

Use:
- Start MSYS clicking "start_MSYS.bat".
- Enter the two command lines that follow.
cd /env
./compile_gmic_and_gmic-gimp_plugin_64_win_SourceForge.sh

Edit : archive deleted, see next message.

Delete old script , you can use the new script in the archive.

Thanks samj; I am holding back on compiling 1.5.8 (formerly 1.5.7.3) since I still get an error when trying to update presets. I posted at Flickr this issue and hopefully will get an answer from David shortly. Other the getting the update, GMIC 1.5.8 beta appears to be working fine. :)

Bonjour,

@lylejk

Thank you for testing :)

Information for SourceForge :
For proper operation it is necessary to use all the DLLs contained in the archive or directories.

Reluctant but anxious to try your new environment out so complied the 64-bit command prompt version. :)

Bonjour,

@Lylejk

I downloaded the archive "GMIC-1.5.8.0_64bit-WIN.7z" and everything works fine.

The error that I get is when I refresh the presets for the GIMP plugin samj; the plugin itself works fine. I've since reverted back to 1.7.2. :)

samj, thank you very much for this! I should mention for anyone else trying this out, put the base directory "petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28" in the base of your path. ie:

"C:\petit-msys-mingw-64bits-gimp28"

I had issues when the location was on a different drive. Otherwise, she works fine!
