This is my first painting attempt with Mypaint. My internet and cable went out on sunday and i really had nothing else to do. So i open up Mypaint and messed around with it. In the past i haven't really used it cause i wasn't really wanting to learn another piece of software. i was happy with gimp and didn't see no reason to use it. I know very little about Mypaint. So Sunday night i was just messing around. i figured i would take the time to play around with Mypaint, since there was nothing else to do seeing how my internet was out along with my cable. Well here is what i ended up painting. It's not finished and i haven't figured out how to finish it yet. I took my time with the clouds. unlike i do when i use gimp. i have tried to paint clouds like this in gimp, but for some reason i was never able to get them to look this good. i really had no idea where i was going with this painting. to tell the truth i wasn't even trying to do a picture. i was only trying to mess around with Mypaint and learn a little about it. Now i will say the painting looks much better on my computer when it's loaded up in mypaint or gimp for that matter. why it doesn't have the same look here i have no clue. i will say i'm liking Mypaint more now than i thought i would. i have had it for awhile, but this is my first attempt at a painting with it.

Excellent work. Mypaint is great for emulating natural media. My problem with it is I like to see where the edges of my brush are but with Mypaint the paint seems to expand beyond the brush which I find difficult to work with.

Looking good. you can also go back and forth from MyPaint to gimp and use Gimp to clean up the edges that you can't do in my paint. and use some of the other tools.

Wow it looks very nice so far, good for a first attempt!! I only wish to be that good and I use it couple months. xD

Hmm..For a finish, maybe make a forest below? Like...you have the huge mountain already, make the forest in front? Or make an icy lake under it maybe!

If all else fails, add a bit of sun coming in the background and crop it down to just the mountain it's really pretty! :D

Wow that's lovely Rd, like the addition of the trees and the lake, the reflections are also really well done.

thank you. i am still new at painting even with gimp. this one was done with mypaint and gimp both. the sky and the mountains are with mypaint the rest is with gimp. the mountains were adjusted with gimp. i have found out i tend to make my mountains a little to flat at times. and that kinda throws me off when i go to do the rest of the painting. i don't expect anyone else to understand that. but it's the only way i can find to say it. oh well. on to the next painting. :runpup :runpup

Cause i'm hard on myself, and cause i really never like my work. i always see the things that are wrong with it. It's just the way i am. later on i will look at the picture and start seeing the better things about it and forget the wrong things with it. it's just been the way i have been for years.
