rdgracer: i remembered about april, you said it in your first post. i repeat my word of caution. i really hope you can focus on more positive things too, you need that!
before you get your urge to paint back you could play with other ways of being creative, any silly little thing i create have always been a bit like medicine for me.

well just wanted to say, me and my girlfriend still remain broke up...

But it hasn't stopped my love of painting. and never will. and the last i checked i had lost almost 50 pounds.

Yes staying focused on other things is the key. A new hobby always works for me when i am feeling down.
