Does anyone know of any kind of freeware that I can use to crop a wmv that won't leave a water mark?
I've tried a few that were not really "freeware" and they all leave a water marks of some kind on the video.

Crop as in "reduce the image size" or crop as in "reduce the duration"? For the latter avidemux may work....

Avidemux also handles the former:

I mean to Crop. As in, when you want to remove unwanted stuff, effectively reducing the image size.

In my case only a slight cropping is needed, because what needs to be removed is to the left side of the video. I figured I could just crop the video and remove the blemish (my neighbor).

I have this video taken in front of my home and a neighbor from across the way decided to take out his trash. In the video you can see him (the neighbor) dressed in his bathrobe taking out his trash. A very unsightly spectacle (at least that's what I thought) that needed to be removed from the video.
The video was made when my mother came to visit. A few days latter she was leaving and this was the farewell video. Needless to say... the neighbor taking out the trash dressed in his bathrobe wasn't noticed during shooting.
