Just curious when you come up with an idea for a painting or design, does the image you have in your mind appear on the canvas, or do you find the image changes as you start to explore and create your artwork.

Both, lol. Some projects start with one little idea or 'thing' and morph as I go along, while with other projects, I already have an idea of what I want it to end up as…and those never quite live up to expectations but are usually 'ok'.

I can relate to the above.

The general ideas are usually quite solid but within a loose framework I play freely with the details.

In my mind I'll normally have the foundational concept, sometimes I have exactly how I want it to look in my mind (It nearly NEVER looks how I pictured ), then when I start to work it becomes mostly firm with a bit of fluidity for random details and the like. :3
