(I highly recommend looking at the large DA version for this one)

The title pretty much speaks for itself.

GIMP + MyPaint. Comments and feedback appreciated as usual.

Still like how you make the glossy skin Griatch. The watery tears look awesome too. :)

I don't like to look at it. It's an awesome piece of art but it is just too sad and you have made it project the emotion so strongly that I can't help but feel bad looking at the total grief of the little girl.

I'm quite happy with the tears, thanks!

I can understand that, it was indeed the effect I was aiming for. I must admit that I too found myself subconsciously grimacing and feeling sorry for her whenever I worked on her face - it was really quite interesting. We humans are finely tuned to react and read faces due to our heritage as flock animals. Observing strong emotions like this kicks off all sorts of warning bells in our heads.

I listened to Clint Mansell's Lux Aeterna (from Requiem for a Dream) when painting this. Fits scarily well.

Your skin-tones are amazing Griatch. Also the wet tears running down to her chin are so realistic.
My guess is that this little girl is terrified of someone she knows and has been beaten by this person before so she is expecting the worse to happen again...
Enastående.

Updated this image after feedback from various sources. Changed the wrinkles of her face as well as the colouration of her skin and a few other details.

Thanks for the comments!
