I think the text font is a bit hard to read regardless of the language (I don't know German! lol) but that's just my opinion. What do I know? :hehe
Very nice concept and image! I like it. :3

thanks Odin and Moko ! :)

well it say "all the best for your birthday" (surprise) in german, so i doesnt really matter if its hard to read, because its kind of obvious ;)
the little doggie's name is Alma and is my friends dog
personally i dont like pets very much, but you have to admit she looks cute (although she is very stubborn and stinks, lol) :runpup

the mushrooms in the background are from a picture my friend took when she had to take a cure
so theres a backstory to all the elements and she likes nature as well

i have to say it again, i dont like working on big images (2000x2000px) :gaah

the posterize effect was done with saulgoode's Quantize script
its very good ! :bigthup

I like bulldogs, but I agree with 'Mokonafan' the elliptical text is hard to read, what font is that?

thanks sallyanne and Wallace !

the font is called 'Mutlu'
i still dont mind its kind of unreadable
the message is clear and i like all the swirls

could be the readability has somewhat decreased from putting the text on a circular path

Awww yes she is cute. :D
Alma means "Soul" in Spanish, btw. :3
I don't like working on huge images either, but it does help for resizing later...eh! lol

:esper: :jumpclap :clap :jumpclap :clap i love it! i think the composition is really good - it's symmetrical without being stiff. i like the background a lot too and for a dog owner i think it's a really good idea with the dog's head. and i dont think the text is illegible, it just leaves a bit of work for the viewer's imagination, which may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who the recipient is. personally i like it.

thanks :)
i think i do get what you are always about with my "symmetry-fetish"
...i find it very hard to get away from it, not even sure if i want too
but its interesting to think about it and how i could change things to get away from it

just to let you know, not everything is as symmetrical as it may appear on first sight....

but that were just accidents

I like that font you used for the elliptical text.
What font is it? I'd like to get it.
Also, the posterize effect script by Saulgoode's Quantize, can it be used in Gimp 2.6?

Thanks Esper got the font and I installed that posterize scm, but I always have issues finding where some scrips show up in Gimp.
There's a thread about this somewhere, I'll have to look it up.

Thanks I see it. it's named 'quantize', I thought it was called 'posterize' and that's what confused me. :hehe

I understand, thanks for this link. It is a much finer way of creating the effect, I'll use it in place of the normal Gimp posterize from now on. :bigthup
