Fencepost you are the animation king which is why I started collecting your scripts anyway and the animated LOTR-Letterdrop was a script that quickly combined an existing animation with your LOTR script for PhotoComix

Odinbc whats this TWC site as it looks interesting

thanks mate :bigthup
its not shiny, yeah ;)

(your comment about shininess being old and the post about the minimalistic designs and the longshadow had kind of an impact on me)

:lol it wasn't my intention and I don't really think bling-bling effects are all bad.
Depends on execution.
I really like the effect :bigthup
You added something else to your Chisel effect tutorial to achieve it. Environmental map?

no, nothing like that
two things

first: the killer feature of this effect are the irregular edges of the font that leadto the special texture of the chiselled bevel
so i chose another font that had this very detail

second: when i showed 2-ton and Wallace yesterday another way to colourise the text, i played around with a different colour.
it was purple (i blame Wallace, lol)
then i played around with curves (all four of them) on the chiselled text and the fiery red started forming
i decided i wanted more texture so i fired up G'MIC and applied coloured pencils on a duplicate
that layer on 'Soft Light' and bobs yer uncle

this is another one and goes out to a different kind of king, lol

I believe Tux researched this and yes the bandwidth remains the same for either way.

I know your question was directed at Esper Wallace, but I hope you don't mind me wading in...
I think the Viking one might also look good on a dark timber.
Would you be interested in humouring me and posting it using the attached pattern or any other dark timber you may have?

Yeah... sure thing FB, I'd like to try that out. Give me a moment and I'll whip that up.

Here it is. I hope that this is the pattern, it was the only pattern with the name 'Woodblack". What do you think. I think the grain is very tight, like oak or some other really hard wood. I hand drew the pattern I used for my Viking text image.

I love your work and I hop that you keep doing it. You create some really sweet tutorials. Even though some are not for the faint at hart. Nonetheless... I enjoy going through them and sometime adding my own personal twist to try and stump you, haven't accomplished that yet and I don't think I ever will. :hehe

Only that some of your tutorials are for the more advanced Gimpers, I like this kind of tut and you do them very well.
