]It looks to get to "set active layer", or something like that, before it crashes. I did reload it before I posted that. It gets quite a ways, then crashes. I'm just using the stock settings. Here's what pops up:

EDIT: Working in 2.8, not 2.6.

Another interesting thing happened. I tried again, with stock settings in 2.6. It crashed again. I exited out of GIMP, and the layers showed up in the layers dialog, without an image, or anything for the matter on the main program:

Ah, OK. I see that I slipped in a GIMP 2.8 only command.

I've updated V1.2.1 to V1.2.2 to correct this problem. Grab it from GIMP Scripts.

V1.2.2 does not include any new updates. It is just a quick temporally fix for GIMP 2.6.x users, until I get a chance to fully test and release the new version. GIMP 2.8.x users can continue to use V1.2.1.
Thanks for bringing this problem to my attention, Warrior. :hi5

A script full of features the most diverse.
The option to have the Glass Effect, Alpha to Logo was the icing on the cake!
Thank you! :bigthup :tyspin

Thank you, Akros.

I have a lot of new updates for this script so hopefully, I'll be able to finish up what I have planned and get it posted it soon.

I have the script, now which folder do I place it in? I'm running Gimp 2.8 on Windows 7.

This is a Script-Fu script so place it in your scripts folder and refresh or restart GIMP.

It will show up on the menus in two locations.

Filters/Alpha to Logo/Logo Toolbox (for alpha/selection)

and

File/Create/Logos (gimpchat) (for text logo creations)

The script can be a little tricky learn to use effectively so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Logo Toolbox updated to V1.3

I've improved the accuracy of the script by properly saving and restoring selections at key points along the way, which can really make a noticeable difference in the final results achieved.

I've also added two new fill types using built-in GIMP filters.

Random Colors Effects Using The Diffraction Filter

Image

Unique Color Patterns and Texture Using the Lava Filter and Active Gradient.

Logo Toolbox V1.3 is available on Gimp Scripts.

I hope someone finds this script useful. :bigthup

Nice results kungfu07 & Molly. :bigthup

Unfortunately, I found a bug in the new V1.3 release. :gaah

I accidentally left in some test code that caused a crash if you set effects layers and bump layers both to none.

I have fixed the problem and updated the script to V1.3.1. Please download the new version.

Sorry for the inconvenience, folks. :bluesad

I don't know how you did that one, did you cut part of it out and just leave the purple? That is really nice. The texture and the wrinkles are very cool.

I used the Stricto Sensu font on that one, Molly. Used the Lava fill, with the "Purples" as the active gradient and bump textured with Green Waves pattern (depth 6). I jacked up the saturation and contrast too.

Here are the settings.
