I'm happy to announce the first minor update for the newly introduced 1.5.8.x serie of the G'MIC framework, with the 1.5.8.1 version. Enjoy ! There are interesting new filters in it for retouching image details.

Here is the Changelog :

New features :

- New command '-split_details' and associated GIMP filter 'Details / Split details' that can decompose/recompose images into several scales of details.


- New filter 'Details / Details equalizer' in the plug-in for GIMP.



- New filter 'Repair / Smooth [skin]' in the plug-in for GIMP.

Modifications / Improvements :

- Command '-repair' is now merged with command '-inpaint'.
- UI of commands '-display' and '-select' has been improved.
- Ditributed deb packages (for Debian/Ubuntu) does not provide ZArt anymore, and should be easier to install on different Debian/Ubuntu distributions.

Bug fixes:

- Fixed command '-bilateral' : was possibly crashing when used on a blank image.
- GIMP plug-in : CTRL+F now repeat the latest G'MIC command, even when it has been applied with button 'Apply' instead of 'OK'.
- GIMP plug-in : Repeating a faulty command with 'CTRL+F' made the plug-in crash [fixed].
- In 3d object display routine : light source now follow the object zoom, so that it doesn't stop to be lighten is some extreme cases.

Thank you David. Is there any chance of changing the hosting site sometime? Mobile broadband is a real pain for downloads so I rely on the library computers which are now banning downloads from Sourceforge.

Erisian, sorry, but we will probably stay on Sourceforge for some times, as we have set up all the tools to help developing the projects there and it takes a lot of time to do so.

Wow; the detail equalizer is awesome David. I'll compile the 64-bit versions tomorrow (way too tired now; have to get some shuteye for my final 8 hour gig for the week. lol).

Thanks Lyle, please don't get the sources from GIT, because I've already started the 1.5.8.2 beta, and if you compile it, people won't be able to get the updates for 1.5.8.1.

Ah; wish their was a way to get the source from git by name identifier; gotta figure out again how to compile from source. lol

Erisian you should be able to replace the update-file you have with one some else updates to. They can just upload it here for you.

Thanks Rod. AnMal has sent me the latest but to be honest, I'm getting a little fed up with the internet and the devious ways of many sites. The latest in my hate list is Zone Alarm who insist that you change your home page etc before they will allow you to install their firewall. It won't be long before I give up on the net and just make do with what I already have.
