Rod ..

Did you get that in the 'Daily Font List?' I subscribed to that and only periodically get something. This is odd. It's not in my spam either I checked both gmail and then thunderbird, nothing.

OR

Did you find that little gem on your own??

Yes I get one free font per day through Fonts 101 . :)

You may want to send them a support ticket or the like and let them know.

Thanks! This is a really cool effect! I had to vary from the tutorial to make it work in my Gimp, but the basic idea of adding the text selection with the rectangle select selection, turn off text visibility, then copy visible/paste as new layer is the key! Oooh, it would work with any added selection shape!

ruh roh, that was a long time ago and I'm not sure I remember without doing it all from scratch. Hopefully someone else who has done it will chime in, I won't have time to redo the process until after Christmas. However, that posted link takes you to a tutorial that gives you directions with photos step by step.

Nice collection Rod i wonder if would be possible batch convert them to path.
You know i am not too passionate of paths and vectors, yet i always need to adapt pre-made ballon , as brush or font i may only scale
as path i may quickly adapt to the image to be pasted on

Usually i end doing ballons from scratch because time to search , open and edit the most adapt "Bit map" ballon is usually more then to create a new one, but this for "bitmap" baloons, if are paths that become quicker and more neat.

Thinking better that of save and export the ballons path may be also a nice asddition to Greachan script, i didn't think about before writing this

But back to this cool pack have you idea if could be batch converted in path (i.e. svg)
I have a "export Svg path" script if could be useful

I think this should cover any need for a speech bubble anyone might want.
Thanks! :-)

PC there is a script out there on the registry named "Export_Layers".
This script will export any group of layers as PNG, GIF,JPEG,BRUSHES,PATTERNS,SVG or any other file supported by GIMP.

http://registry.gimp.org/node/28268
SEE ALSO - http://registry.gimp.org/search/node/export%20layers

Use script-fu Graechan Font to Image Hose.scm

1. Open this *.gih in Gimp
2. Unfortunately export all layer as svg gives an error - never mind - there are no paths in the font ....

So each layer

3. Alpha to selection
4. Selection to path
... when all ...
5. Export path (all)

Svg file in the annex.

Maybe when it is ready
http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9446
it succeeds (points 3 and 4) in script-fu ...

Ooppss i missed your reply !

I didn't know gimp could export SVG, i know could open but i didn't know about saving...i even installed a "export as SVG script" because i was thinking export as SVG missed

i am going to have a look to the links

i see , from the included zip that at the end worked
so the correct sequence would be 1, 3,4,5 , because the most direct 12 doesn't work ?

Yes - but if anyone write script (plugin.py) for all layers (3 Alpha is a selection -> 4 Selection is the path)? Maybe somehow batch?

Oh well that would be cool
I was hoping was a more direct approach...fonts (at least most fonts) are not already in a sort of vector format ?

I tried the onlinefontconverter, unsuccessfully. How does it work? I tried to convert Script MT Bold Font to .svg.
