The Professor was my favorite character. He invented so many hilarious things yet couldn't fix the boat, lol.

Gilligan's Island was a great show!
The whole idea was so silly and all the actors were perfect in their roles.

Bob Denver as First Mate Gilligan
Alan Hale, Jr. as Captain/The Skipper Jonas Grumby
Jim Backus as Thurston Howell III, the millionaire
Natalie Schafer as Eunice Lovelle Wentworth Howell
Tina Louise as Ginger Grant, the movie star
Russell Johnson as Professor Roy Hinkley, Ph.D.
Dawn Wells as Mary Ann Summers
Charles Maxwell was the uncredited voice of the "Radio Announcer" (1964–65). The castaways would listen to his plot-advancing radio bulletins in many episodes, and always with perfect timing to hear the exact news they needed to know.

I've always wondered why Gilligan wasn't tossed into the volcano for screwing up their every chance of being rescued. I mean come on!... first time, okay. Anything after that, (IMHO) would have to been his death sentence.
Gilligan was such an imbecile, that he could have been suckered into jumping into the volcano all by himself.

Oh... BTW, nice image of the Professor lylejk.

I think it was because he was so pathetically adorable that's why they let him live. xD

RIP Professor. You weren't quite smart enough to get off the island, but you got close several times. To be fair, Gilligan usually screwed up your plans. :hehe

When I was a kid, I never missed an episode and saw each one so many times, I can still recite the dialog and remember the lyrics from both versions of the intro (and the lyrics from the "outro").

An interesting note about this series is that Tina Louise always resented her role as "Ginger" and blamed typecasting on the fact that her career never really took off, as she'd hoped . On the other hand, Alan Hale loved his role as "The Skipper" and fully embraced it. He would even wear his iconic hat around town and had no problem being called 'Skipper". I kinda think Bob Denver was a troubled individual. Aside from his early days as Maynard G. Krebs on Dobie Gillis, which was a little before my time, I can't remember seeing him in anything else.

I saw Bob Denver in an episode of the Love Boat where he played a character that was going to be in the Guiness book of world records for have the most sex with different women (no joke; lol). Other then that, I've not see Bob Denver in any show other then Dobie Gillis and of course, Gilligan's Island. :)

I'll bet they all made money on the Boat Show circuit.

Actually they did get off the island and were marooned right back onto another one. :lol
Remember the movie? Gilligan and the professor invent the Frisbee and the Skateboard. :) Then somehow or another they all end up right back on the Skippers new boat and Gilligan makes the same mistake as he did to get them marooned in the first place. Something to do with the anchor? I can't remember.
