Thanks all for the comments, there much appreciated and always of help to me.
I can see how having a Gargoyle on both sides of the tunnel entrance would balance the image but, and I'm pretty much running with Anmal's take on the picture, I saw the Gargoyle as a living creature, waiting for the train to start passing it before it took to flight and started escorting the train, a kind of wingman I guess. I think I need to do more work on the Gargoyle to make it look as if it will take to flight at any moment rather than looking like a stone statue. The size of the file is making further editing a bit of a struggle though, so I think I'll work on the Gargoyle as a separate image and see what happens.

It is a dark image even on my screen as well, I always find it easier to blend the different elements of a photo manip if the general atmosphere of the piece isn't too bright. It could be that the brightness on your monitor is a bit low, I'm no expert about theses things though.
