no, it's not a card this time. it's something i've been planning to do for her for ages but never got round to. she's into celtic folk music, just like me, and she likes celtic knotwork and other celtic design, so i decided to make her a personal tshirt with a celtic motive.
i made the design plan myself. the knotwork is part my own, part stolen from erisian
. i first tried a more complex knot for the round part of the note, but it got too messed up when viewed from a distance, so in the end i made this simpler design. the little "flag" is a modified version of a triangular knot, erisian posted his version of that knot here not long ago and i thought that might be very suitable for the "flag".
here's the gimp image with the actual print. the png i uploaded at the tshirt printing site had a transparent background, but i added a grey background because it was easier to see that way. what looks like jagged edges zoomed out looks like decorated ribbons zoomed in, so take a look at the screenshot under the main image:
