I have been working some on learning how to use some of the basic tools better in Gimp and drawing. I ran across a tut that supposedly was for gimp but was more aimed at inkscape. I did try it and did the best i could any suggestions would be great. I drew an apple from one tut and this candle using the inkscape tut.

Here's the candle tut.

I found that my drawing experiences with GIMP started best when I scanned my sketches and opened them in GIMP, convert them to lineart, then add a white layer above it set multiply and start painting with the paintbrush.

O recently posted a link to drawing cartoons, http://lackadaisy.foxprints.com/exhibit ... ibitid=333

I tend to start out small, and work my way up to bigger things. I love making comic strips, and comic book panels. I also sketch caricatures on paper for family and friends.

Those look nice Lianam.
Those images all have real good colors. I especially like the apple.

Gimp is great for just about any kind of drawing except vector.
Thanks for sharing those with us. :)

Thanks. :) I did download inkscape might try some vector shapes there. Do the candle tut again. I was thinking along the lines you sugested mahvin about scanning the images and then coloring. I found a tut on it but I got lost something did not work right. But i will keep trying. I do have some b&w drawings on my pc and actually a few stencils. So I am play with that. Thanks again.
