Well here it is, the long awaited, (or not) "Animated Green Pepper Brush". :hehe
Image

I alpha selected the text and shrank the selection so it was really close, and then set the selection to a path and used the "Animated Green Pepper Brush" to stroke it. Then filled in some of the empty spaces with the regular pepper brush. And added a drop-shadow.

Wallace! Finally something with the green pepper brush! Funny note - I was deleting some brushes last night and I looked at that brush and deleted it. Guess what? I've just downloaded it again. Very nice Wallace.

Thanks for the animated brush, Wallace.

Let us not forget about one of the best ever uses of the Pepper Brush, Wbool's excellent GIMP Chat banner. :bigthup

That was always my fave too, just something vibrant and colourful about it, not to mention the composition.

I originally made the brush to help me in creating another Gimp splash screen, but I ended up stroking a text path with it.
Still... the Gimp splash screen image for Gimp 2.8 featuring this brush, will soon be created.

The animated brushes have a gih extension. and they are made a little bit differently like you do in a regular animation. you have to change the brush to a different angle on each layer, not sure exactly, it has been a long time since I made any.
create an animated brush in Gimp

I think Molly has already explained this nicely. :bigthup
The brush is not an animation in the traditional sense of what we think of as animation,
like this image below.
Image
"The .gih ("gimp image hose") format is used for animated brushes. These brushes are constructed from images containing multiple layers: each layer may contain multiple brush-shapes, arranged in a grid. When you save an image as a .gih file, a dialog comes up that allows you to describe the format of the brush".
Also see Gimp documentation... http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-using-brushes.html
BTW... The animation above was made using the "Animated Green Pepper Brush".

:hehe
I just opened the brush as an image, gave each layer a white background, then saved as .gif, to make the animated Green pepper from the animate green pepper brush. ;)

Gimp Salad any one? Personally, I'm a meat & potatoes kind of guy. How about an animated porterhouse.
