i learned before christmas that the most time-economic way to make lots of nice looking cards is by using g'mic filters. for these valentines i just drew up a heart shape on a coloured background, made the actual hheart transparent, opened some small heart shapes as separate layers and ran the "pack sprites" filter on it. then i played with filters and layer modes til i got some nice effects and added text to some.

Wow AnMal - that's your second post on G+. You have some pretty amazing designs here. I particularly like the second "sketch"

Love them all anmal, second one from the bottom is a little dark with not enough contrast, but very nice work.

ronounours: thank you! that's an honour :)!!
erisian: yaaay!! i like that one too, it looks like it would print beautifully.
molly: thank you :)! i see what you mean about that one, but it's one of my favourites, so it probably stays the way it is.
dalia: thank you! i like those too, i think it works well with the red text against the simple b&W cards.

Nice work AnMal, 3 and 4 are my favourites and of course you could've gone fully G'mic and used the heart rendering tool.

moko: thank you :).
he4rty: thank you! i didn't have a thought of the heart rendering filter, to be honest, but that heart is even similar in shape to the one i used for my frame.
