Following on from Ofnuts shape creating plugin, which looks like it will be a fine addition to Gimp.

There is already a useful plugin, path-shape-creator
http://registry.gimp.org/node/28620 and
http://www.arakne.es/en/dessign/gimp-sc ... e-creator/

Packed as a .rar archive, so you will need something like peazip to unpack.

Hi rich2005,

I downloaded your py and put it into my plugins folder. It shows up but when I click on it nothing happens. Would love to give this a try. For your info, I'm on a mac with Gimp 2.8. Thank you.

Do you have any message showing up in the error console ("Windows/Dockable dialogs/Error console")?

Not my plugin, I am not a coder. Works here in my linux machine.

Unpacking the .rar gives a single file.
arakne-path-shape-creator2.py size 9382B

When you say it shows up, what does that mean?
It installs as entry, Filters -> Path

Unpacking, it is not marked as executable, so check on that. Otherwise, as Ofnuts post, any error mesages?

Did you give the the file (arakne-path-shape-creator2.py) the proper permission?
Did you have an active selection before you tried to use the path shape creator?

Did you have an active selection before you tried to use the path shape creator?

Since it shows up in the menu it has ran the registration so must be executable already.

This is an excellent plugin that I've been using for a while now with no problems

Gave the file the proper permissions. Now I can't check the console as it no longer appears as on option in the filters menu...? I'll completely remove and try again.

Update:

Deleted, reinstalled, it shows up again in the menu, new doc, have made a selection, click on Filters, Path, Path Shape Creator - screen flickers - no messages in error console.

Same here in Gimp-2.8.11 Onkels version. Shows in menu but doesn't execute.
