I had a heart attack on Wed Feb 12th, while I was riding my bike, coming home from the store. I rode all the way home (about a mile and a half), then went to the emergence room.
Long story short... Had a stent put into one of my arteries near my heart, that had a 95% blockage.
Have to take 5 kinds of medications for the rest of my life now.

So needless to say, most if not all of any recent art work I've started, will need to be put on hold for now.

I'm doing okay, and glad that I'm still kicking.

Wow, Wallace, gosh that must have been scary, I don't know how you ever made it home, instead of going straight to the hospital.
You were sure lucky. Those stents are great things though, I know someone that had one put in 15 yrs ago, she is over 90 now and looks very good.
I am so glad you are okay now. take care.

Wow man, that's scary. Glad you're okay. My mom had a stent put in 5 or 6 years ago. It's amazing what they can do these days.

Take care of yourself. I'd rather miss you around here temporarily than permanently.

Wallace, very glad to see you caught it in time and that you are doing okay now. Had the same thing happen a couple of years ago, shoveling snow. Know first hand, how scary it can feel. Hope your recovery goes fine and hope the best for you.

Yeah thanks, I was quite frantic during the whole episode. Being alone on my bicycle, miles form home was also not very convenient and most terrifying to say the least.

wallace: oh heavens, brother, i'm glad to hear you're fine! heart attacks are very scary things. take good care of yourself! it's perfectly possible to live a long, healthy and active life after a heart attack, though, so don't loose courage.

Not good to hear that you had a heart attack. Especially while driving. Thank goodness you didn't have an accident. Good to hear they have put a stent in for you and have got your problems fixed with medication as well.
Will look forward to your purple :jumpclap creations in the future.

Wallace, my jaw dropped when I read your post. I'm glad to hear your on the mend. :bigthup
As AnMal says, "it's perfectly possible to live a long, healthy and active life after a heart attack" and I hear Gimping is good for the heart, (OK, I made that last part up).

Strength or ignorance, I'm not sure, but I'm glad things went the way they did and it was very frightening. I'm going to take it very slow for a while now. ;)

Thanks Anmal, that's very encouraging for you to say, and I'm very hopeful that I'll have a good recovery.

Thanks Odin, and I have good faith that things will get back to "normal".
Gimping may well be good for the heart. :hehe

So sorry to hear that, Wallace. I am glad to hear you are OK and were able to get treatment. Having a stint is pretty common these days. I have several friends who have them and they are doing fine.

Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery!
