Not really, not this time but here is my latest creation for a client (harmony Hill boer goats obviously LOL)

With all my posts, please feel free to offer criticism, you can not possible hurt my feelings...but, bear in mind this is a promotional flyer to be put in a magazine. This is a huge file, so I have only posted a low resolution/quality image here. The original is a full page 8X10 at 300 PPI blech.

Special Thank you to GnuTux for logo toolbox that enabled me to make the ultra sleek text effect that my client is just nuts over the text. And thank you to all of those who took time to answer questions as well. I am very happy to have found such a great community of artists.

Nice looking flyer you got there. It's beautiful in its simplicity and just goes to show sometimes less is more. You did a good job showing off the important parts, goats. It also conveys the message well that this goat stock is superior. All in all, well done.

Seriously if anything sticks out please tell me before we go to print! LOL Marketing images are much less bling bling for sure. I am looking forward to my tablet coming and working on more arty art LOL

Thank you for the kind words.

Nice results, AllenaMae.

I'm glad you found the LT helpful in your design. Those are some really impressive goats, too. :bigthup

If your going to print I would check your margins and (if it's multi-page) gutters.

Does the job, satisfyingly balanced arrangement; nothing bothers my eyes.

It's giving me a craving for goat's milk, darnit.

Agreed.

Perhaps Harmony Hill would be interested in helping the GIMP developers with their own genetic engineering efforts.

I'll bet Harmony Hill could help get rid of that 5th leg and maybe add an extra udder. :lol

allena mae: looks nice with the layout. i'm with you, though, i wouldn't have chosen that metal plate texture for the text (it seems a bit out of context, looks like it doesn't really fit in with the rest) - but of course, if the people you make it for love it so much they should have it, it's their choice :).

I believe she said in another thread that the client wanted that texture for some unfathomable reason.

Thank you! Yes her goats are beautiful! I do not have boers, I have LaMancha which are adorable dairy goats that have small cookie type ears like a teddy bear. I love them.

Odin, I should be good on that, it is set to print the size of the ad, they will take care of that part. GnuTux, I love the script, had lots of fun playing with it, and I even made my own version of the bumpmap! I've learned so much playing with it.

Matera, I have lots of goat milk! We have one doe that just had her babies, and two more due week after next. I will be swimming in it soon.

As the client herself will tell you, boer goat people are insane...lol I do not know what the significance is, or if she just likes it. Not what I would pick but I will say in print it actually looks VERY nice. This is a full page add so it looks pretty good and she loves it.

WE do so many flyers that we have to do "by the rules" that I think partly she just wanted some bling. And I did enjoy how it turned out and making it.
