The problem I have is that I'm not a GIMP pro but yet I need desperately to produce logos/text that has a white border, or glow and/or a drop shadow. The best example I have is this photo that somebody made probably with photoshop.



It's so simple and yet I haven't found one like that anywhere. I have some have a glow effect but it's typically yellow or meant as a radiation glow or something. I'm just looking for an adjustable frosting to make the letters easier to read against backgrounds.

Also, check out the GC-Shadow script. It supports glow, as well as inner shadows and drop shadows, with sold colors and gradients.
