Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Advanced Level



Is there a way to set the number of bytes for an image with gimp? i have join a football sim game site and on there forum page i can upload my own avatar but it has be 150 pixels by 150 pixels. but there is a max of 15000 bytes for the image. i know how to set the pixels but have no clue how to set the bytes.can anyone help me?

I don't know of a general means of constraining the filesize directly, however, the Save For Web plug-in allows you to try different formats and quality settings and preview the resulting image/filesize.

yea sure, i just by passed changing the bytes of the image by just using a direct link from photo bucket to post the avatar. i didn't know at the time i posted this that i had that option. in other words i just uploaded the image from my computer to photobucket and then copied and pasted the direct link to that website. it was easier than i was making it.

Oh yeah "image hosting", good time saver.
I use photobucket's image hosting to place images into a group page on deaviantArt.
