Hello again. Does anyone know of a GIMP tutorial, script or plug-in to produce a vintage deckle border effect like the one in the attachment? Thanks in advance.

I made this using the script "Old Paper".
I first cropped my image then made a selection around the image, big enough to create a boarder around the image. The ran the script, making sure to check "Distress Boarder"...

I did not use a "drop shadow", which is one of the scripts functions.
And yes that's an old photo of me. :hehe

Thanks Molly. My Grandfather took that picture of me back in the 60's.

Thanks AnMal.
I'm about 10 X that size now, with a lot more wrinkles. :hehe
BTW... Here's a screenshot of the dialog for this script.

I created my own drop-shadow. The one that the script makes it not so good.

Hi Disova,The effect that you want can be done with a filter such as suggested by Wallace. I do not have that filter but I assume it will be a version of the Select/ Distort Selection . This image was produced by using the rectangle marquee tool and distorting the selection.

Some Screen shots of some useful settings.

Thank You Molly, I have downloaded. Note, I am still using Gimp 2.6.11. I know I am old and ancient but I have trouble finding the newer versions doing much more for my needs.

You could always download Partha's portable .gimp-2.8.10 and see if you like it. That way you have the best of both. :teeth.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.
