GIMP Version: 2.8.4
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

List any ERROR messages you received:
The errors I receive are: web-page.exe-Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point_gxx_personaity_seh0 could not located in the dynamic link library libstdc++-6.dll ; help-browser.exe - Entry Point Not Found:The procedure entry point_gxx_personaity_seh0 could not located in the dynamic link library libstdc++-6.dll ; File-pdf-load.exe-Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point_gxx_personaity_seh0 could not located in the dynamic link library libstdc++-6.dll

Gimp gives me errors on start up but after the errors, gimp starts up as normal after I close them. I just wonder why that is happening.

It looks like a DLL issue along with your help browser. It might just be a duplicate DLL problem.
Have you changed anything in Gimp recently, scripts, plug-ins, version?
Have you installed or uninstalled anything recently other than Gimp on your computer?

These errors come from plug-ins that you are not using. You may have a conflict between versions of libstdc++-6.dll. There is one installed with Gimp (C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\libstdc++-6.dll: 864,381 bytes) but you may have another one (likely older) elsewhere (possibly somewhere under c:\Windows\System32 if you are on XP...), in which case you can copy the one from Gimp over that one (after making a backup).

Any other Open Source software on your PC (InkScape, Krita...)?

I have added a few brushes and scripts & installed Blender recently but that's it. As long as Gimp still works, I'm happy. How would I fix the problem?

I use windows 7 and the other open source software I have is Blender. How do I solve this problem?

Search for duplicate, libstdc++-6.dll
If you find duplicate, libstdc++-6.dll post paths.

I found the file, but I didn't see a duplicate.

How and where would I search for it? Once I locate it, which one do I delete?
Just do a Windows search. You may find multiple version of libstdc++-6.dll in Gimp, Windows system and another program.
I do not recommend deleting any of them. My method would be to rename a possible unneeded libstdc++-6.dll to libstdc++-6.dll.old (disable) and test before delete.

First do a search, post any libstdc++-6.dll paths here.

I had the same problem, mackenzieh , the only thing that worked, was uninstall it.
go to start - panel control-programs and features. First-remove extensions and then the Gimp program.
go to any cleansing program you have (I have the Cleaner) registry for problems and fixes them clean debris left from the Gimp program.
Turning off the computer completely- and turn it on again. Install the program Gimp first and check it, it must open smoothly if you all well - then install the extensions. Then open Gimp and check that Gimp goes well.
Sorry for my terrible English. Luck!

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

I did the search and there was no duplicate file.

What is the size and change date of your libstdc++-6.dll?

And, btw, Blender also uses a libstdc++-6.dll, so the back-level DLL is possibly in the Blender installation, with the PATH environment variable pointing to the directory where it is. If you enter "Path" in a command prompt, is there any Blender-related directory in the answer?

I deleted blender but I am still getting the errors when Gimp loads.
