Hello there,

I'm happy to announce the release of a small update, numbered 1.5.8.2 of the G'MIC package.
Here is the changelog :

New features:

- New command '-puzzle' and associated plug-in filter 'Arrays & tiles / Puzzle' :

[ Image ]

- New command '-map_sprites' and associated plug-in filter 'Patterns / Op art', that replaces image pixels by various shapes.

[ Image ]

- New command '-detect_skin' and associated plug-in filter 'Colors / Detect skin', that tries to detect pixels of skin in portrait images.

[ Image ]

- New filter 'Repair / Smooth [skin]' in the GIMP plug-in. It allows to automatically smooth people skin in portrait images.

[ Image ]

- Update of the filter 'Details / Details equalizer'. It allows to apply various image transformations on different levels of details.

[ Image ]

Improvements:

- Command '-bilateral' : second argument (sigma_r) now accepts an additional %.
- Additional debug informations are now integrated by default when a custom command file is loaded. It allows the interpreter to locate more precisely (filename + line number) when error occur in an external source file. Very useful for developers of G'MIC commands.
- Command '-otsu' returns the list of used thresholds in the status.
- Work has been done to reduce the required heap memory for the compilation.

Bug fixes:

- Fixed bug in command '-display' for the display of images with nan values.

I hope you will enjoy this release !

David.

Here's the link to 64-bit plugin (all files included; if you already have G'MIC on your system, all you need is the gimp_gmic.exe plugin file):

Thanks Lyle, I've updated the web site with your new version for Win64.
Now, I have some professional constraints which will take me some time, so I probably won't have lot of time to work on G'MIC during the next months.
Hope everything will be OK with this one !

As a normal user (using this wonderful addition to what is GMIC) does not always keep up with the changes in the program.
I guess I picked a bad time for a wish list ?
Just a small suggestion (request) on the list of filters.
http://gmic.sourceforge.net/gimp_filters.txt
Currently, there are two lists:
List of filters, sorted by path.
List of filters, sorted alphabetically.
These two lists are very useful - but:
Not all the news and changes (amendments), you can quickly learn.
Is it possible to add:
List of filters, sorted by latest update?

ps. Recently I have a problem with the filter Mosaique 1 - completely freezes my computer (even for test image 20x20 px) - please check if it is only my problem?

Just ran a test on the Mosaique 1 and it's working okay here. I'm running G'Mic version 1.5.8.2 and Linux Mint 16. Hope this helps.

Download GMIC compiled by Samj, and if you still are there any problems with the filter report the problem on the blog. :jumpclap Page "samj Créations" :keybdtype works again :jumpclap

I found the G'Mic version for 64 bit but now I'm stuck on how to install it. I'm using the latest version of gimp, windows 7 64 bit. There are 2 GMIC folders with in the 64 bit folder that I downloaded. I'm wondering which folder to use and where to put the files.

Folder 1: GMIC-64bit WIN
Folder 2: GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64bit WIN

You can install the win32 plug-in, it works well for win64.
Another alternative is the builds from Samj, available here : http://samjcreations.blogspot.ca/2014/0 ... -bits.html

you should use Folder 2: GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64bit WIN, note: zlib1.dll is probably already installed in your bin folder
to install paste the whole folder (GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64bit WIN) in your plugins folder and create a new path to it in preferences

I will use folder 2. Where does it go when I install it?
