he4rty: wow!! those are great looking phone wallpapers! i like the brushed steel look and the carefully picked touch of colour in the first one, and the chocolate makes my mouth water. i'm not allowed any chocolate right now (after my little adventure at the emergency ward i'm put on special diet to see if that changes anything), but that kind of chocolate is perfectly safe :). did you make that foil from scratch or use an already existing image?

matera: that looks lovely. a very restful image to look at. did you make the gimp splash screen especially to match the theme?

AnMal - Thanks for the lovely comments and to answer your questions, I used a pattern already in my folder for the tinfoil, I think it came as part of GPS. I can create tinfoil or a least know a basic technique for it, you can read my tutorial here.
Sorry to hear you have had to go on a restricted eating plan, I hope you are not being deprived of to much.

I missed this one. I really like what you did there he4rty, especially the brushed aluminum.
All the fixtures I have in my house are in that texture, lamps, lights, door knobs etc, I also have that aluminum foil wallpaper and it can be used for a lot of things.

Nice one Tux.

Revisited the chocolate bar because I wanted more depth on the chunks.

Overlook Wallpaper by avhell, on Flickr

I couldn't resist posting something in this thread.

I like my wallpaper patterns to be simple. This is the carpet pattern for one part of the Overlook Hotel from The Shining.

Thank you Molly, but how can I be sure that you're not wearing beer-goggles.
Sorry Molly, I like busting your chops for some reason.

New Monitor, New Wallpaper.

Took a while to work out some bits as it was all created using the cloud filter, pixel blur and grid lines plus a few small tweaks.
