I totally agree, and had come to think along the same lines. I was proposing (in my mind) to make individual selections on a window pattern, and run different variations and directions of glass textures. Most of my own stained glass work consists of 50 or more types of glass and textures.

LOL ... well my friend saw the blue glass I put in the window frame and she will use that.

I love your stained glass mahvin. Looks beautiful even if the pattern is contiguous.

This is certainly a fun effect to play around with. No two results are the same ...

I'm pretty sure I didn't dream this. Someone put up a link to this and I downloaded it plus another piece of glass. The post is gone now or I had a hallucination.

@ Mike: That's gorgeous!

Whew! I'm so relieved. I clicked the link and saw the texture and must have connected it with a post instead of seeing it on the website.

:cool

Aeontown, I am putting something together for this, but was looking for a way make a transition on a script to use patterns instead of just palettes and colors. But I will submit a tutorial for it in the near future. :)

You know the LayerFX script uses patterns, maybe you can dig something out of it?

There's a Python and scm version.

It's found in <Image> Script-Fu > Layer Effects
