The Gimp version isn't only matter of renaming things. If a plugin requires a functionality that was in 2.4 but not in 2.6, it won't reappear by miracle by renaming 2.6 to 2.4.

What plugin/script are you talking about?

When installing Gimp sharp, there are two files that get renamed from 2.6 to 2.4 and once the installation is complete, you rename them back to 2.6. The idea is only to fool the installation program. You need to set them back to 2.6 so everything will run normally.

Rename gimp-2.6.exe and gimp-console-2.6.exe to gimp-2.4.exe and gimp-console-2.4.exe
They are located in C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin
Just remember to set them back after installing Gimp sharp.

I hope this helps.
