But but but...

After I rotate my text into place, gimp leaves the outline of the original not-rotated text. I'm not sure if the board will allow me to show the result until I've posted 5 times, but here goes:

don't worry about the shadow, it disappears but oops, I forgot how…I think when you hide the path by clicking the path eyeball in the path layers stack.

I just seem to get lost in the tutorial for some reason..I was actually wondering if there is an update of it

the other thing is...I also want to do something inside the circle as well...but it shouldnt be any different really.

an easier way of summarising this thread is:

01.) create selection (circle)
02.) convert selection to a path (then deselect)
03.) type your text
04.) left click on your text and choose "text along path"
05.) a path of your text around the circle will appear
06.) make your original text invisible
07.) to rotate the text, call up the rotation tool and make sure its set to path
08.) rotate the path-text (maybe use some guides to help you)
09.) create a new transparent layer
10.) create a selection from your path-text
11.) fill the selection with the colour of your choise on the transparent layer
12.) turn off your text-path and the path-circle


you will have to flip the circular path for that (horizontally)

but i would use ofnuts' Text along path python script for that - much easier !
