Read here about how a need came up for these brushes.

There are 3 animated brushes in the zipped file:
25 x 25 pixels
125 x 125 pixels
250 x 250 pixels

They are listed in your brushes dialog under Pixelized when you go searching for them.

Download the zip file and unzip the three .gih brushes into your /gimp-2.6/brushes folder

Me too! thanks O.

I just made 5 brushes yesterday -
square pixel brushes
1x1
2x2
3x3
4x4
and 5x5

Why?
well when i got to monkeying with that line problem (the 2 pixel one), i needed a 2x2 pixel area to compare and realized i had no square brushes..lol
These are great for website design by pixel also.
file attached if you want them

Check out the use of yours on my galaxy image - very nice results.
I set the brush to paint with the gradient and set the gradient to linear full color spectrum. :)

That turned out really cool, Rod. Clever use of the brush.

I was thinking the small pixelized brush could be used for painting graffiti on a wall.

That would be an excellent use for them.
Have you tried them with the air brush yet?
I bet you could get some real cool looking graffiti with that. :)

I made these incorrectly but you can change the color by changing the dynamics.
In the brush dynamics drop down select random color. Then change the foreground and background color to the same color you want. For example if you wanted to paint in red change both fg and bg colors to red.

I will try and fix these so they work without dynamics needed.
