Blender is awesome. Yes, it has an intense learning curve, but there are many tutorials out there to help you learn the program.

Blender is one of those programs I tend to re-learn every time I do a project that requires it. I don't use if often enough to have it in my blood. It's very good and fast once you have the basic keyboard shortcut in your fingertips, but it's seldomly so that I can figure a function out on my own unless I look it up in the manual or watch a tutorial.
