Not 100% exact as conbagui's tutorial, but very close.
1) download conbagui's files from the tutorial and put them into their respective folders (patterns, gradient, font)
2) download the below Paisley.scm and toss it in your scripts folder.
Attachment:
Paisley.scm [15.57 KiB]
Downloaded 254 times

3) Open conbagui's "Green Paisley Background"
4) Create your desired text, and have this layer selected/hilighted
5) Script-fu->Alpha-to-Logo->Paisley
6) Defaults should be conbagui's defaults (like below image), click OK

here's a sample of what it creates

Here's an updated result of a test, even closer to the result of tutorial but the inner pattern is too dark it's a bug.

Here's an updated result with the bug fixed (script updated as well).

Oops looks like it. I assumed I just needed everything that was included with conbagui's tut which I already had. I'll post something once I get it sorted.

Refreshed, turned Gimp on and off a few times. Turned my computer on and off. Tried it several times now and still same.

Just a guess, but I'll bet sallyanne is using a newer version of the gradient script I posted. Check the error console in GIMP. Looks like Tin's script uses the first version of the script.

Did this half with the script and I remembered a couple other things to do....Not the same but 'different interesting'. I also used the Decor Gradient stroke.

sallyanne,
try this one
This one is updated and is even closer result to the tutorial (if not 100% like it)
Attachment:
Paisley.scm [15.56 KiB]
Downloaded 119 times

and it makes a copy of tux's new script internally and i added positioning of stroke so step 2 is no longer needed.
