Rectangle Select Tool Not Working

I'm having an issue with my rectangle select tool. When I pull it across, down, whatever.. there is no indicator of where you are. I restarted gimp and my computer, thinking that might help, but it hasn't. Any Advice? :tyspin

Is there the same problem for the ellipse tool?

That is what is happening to me too. I pull the tool over where I want to go and it doesn't show anything but it does make the rectangle but I have no way of knowing how big it is until I let go of the tool.

@Leigh, I figured it out. Uncheck the rounded corners box. and you will then see your selection.

That was my solution as well Molly. Maybe it's a bug?

Yeah, but in all the years using Gimp, this just started for me. Maybe it is a 2.8.10 bug, dunno but I am sure we aren't the only ones. (See Graechan... I am not the only one,) :teeth

Maybe some members would like to try clicking the rounded corners feature to see if they get the same result.
