i had a cool effect in mind for long but one of the filter i want use (gmic-offset lines) its a bit buggy, should create concentric lines following the edges but instead then continuos the lines come out broken

So even if in this image the effect may look fine the project is still in the drawer...

i cropped so hopefully will be not resized (this kind of effect don't like much be scaled down)

Fiddling again with gmic Graphic Novel , i was thinking to add a new option to boost the color...here works well but in less washed out images is quite too strong...

So with these effects you are adding, I have to say that they make the Image look better, but is it just a Filter or what?

The first image was a study for a filter:
i was checking the manual steps before trying to automatize all them in a filter....but the result of one of the "component" i wish to use has a bug so i gave up with the filter

Something similar for the second, and third
i wrote for Gmic a filter called Ink Wash ,i used there but with some additional steps that i was planning to include...but i was not happy of the results of other images i tested

The other are just application of a kaleidoscope to create weird simmetrical BG or objects

Wow i love that fingerprinting style in the first image. The Halo warrior has seen better days!. :)
Those presets all look promising. Are they presets or are they filters you have in mind of creating
to add to G'MIC?

the first was supposed to be a new filter, but that fingerprint effect depend from a gmic filter (line offset) that in my opinion is buggy, the "bug" is that the concentric lines it create are usally broken

I believe not sure to have reported the bug, i may try again, but if that is not fixed the filter would be delusive

For the second was basically a variation of Ink Wash:

as running IW on a dup, set the layer to value mode, then dup again the original twice
set that in the middle in overlay mode and that on top in multiply mode

i like the result but i prefer don't complicate Ink Wash and maybe it is no worth a new filter
(Graphic Novel may come close as effect )

Result
