I've doodled some with mandelbulber.
Here are some of the results.
I've got more but since they are >6MB I'll have to reduce them first.
Gerard,

gerard82, I love the detail and colours. What program are you using?

Thanks for the replies.
@odinbc
I am using mandelbulber-1.21.1.
There are newer versions but Gentoo doesn't carry them.
I tried to compile them myself but there's a problem I can't solve.
Here is more info: http://www.mandelbulber.com/
Be aware it uses lots of cpu power.
Gerard.

Thanks Erisian,
Colors are produced and chosen by the program.
They may change unpredictively when you change something unrelated to color.
Results I don't like I simply delete.
Gerard.

What's the better program? Mandelbulber or Mandelbulb 3D? I ask since Mandelbulb 3D is no longer updated but Mandelbulber uses a lot of CPU power. I have Mandelbulb 3D, I just want to know the difference.

Hi mackenzieh,
AFAIK they are written by the same people.
Given that both do a lot of number crunching I don't think there's much diff in CPU time.
Unfortunately they don't make use of the GPU.
The modern Linux kernel can be made to use nVidia GPU time in case the software calls it.
Don't know about other brands of graphic cards.
But for either mandelbulber it makes no diff anyway.
Gerard.

Oh, okay. I will stick with mandelbulb 3d since I already have it & it works on Windows 7. So in other words, there is no difference? Right?

I understood that Mandelbulber is for Linux and that Mandelbulb 3d is for Windows and Macs.
