This was my first attempt to paint in my life. lol I tried to follow Griatch's water scene tutorial. It turned out pretty scary. Anyways I will attempt it again once I get more familiar with the brushes in Mypaint.

So I decided to take what he was trying to teach in that tutorial and just wing it by myself and just approached a few things a bit different to see how it turned out. I have been just scribbling in mypaint off and on but I never keep anything. :rofl

This is my result. All constructive comments welcomed. :paint Thanks

Liana

If you saw my very first ever oil paint on canvas, you'd be very proud of your image. :)

I like this result. Notably the light shade in the upper left that, intentional or not, conveys a feeling of gazing against the sun. Cool.
As for feedback, you could integrate the grass more into the ground by smudging the lower edge of the grass. Use the smudge tool (or MyPaint brush) with low opacity. You can quite easily add "layers" of grass in front of each other to increase the impression of complexity. This covered in more detail in this tutorial.

I like how you went with the basic gist of my tutorial and added your own touch to it. For a first painting, this is very well done indeed. Good job!

Very nice choice of colors, gives a very Serene feel. The only thing I have to say is that there is some sort of like halo sort thing around the tree, that lightens there area.
Hope to see more work,
Willy

It's better than I could do, I have to overlay an image and trace it.

This is quite good for learning a new procedure.
