Hi,

found a tutorial about creating a comic penguin in Illustrator.
Just played with Gimp to achieve a similar result, see below.

It's very good, and interesting that it was done in Gimp. It's all about shape and shading/gradients.

A fun helper; Samj made an Egg script, it create various egg-shaped curves with paths. It's useful for penguin shapes.
