UFRaw works fine with Gimp 2.8.14. UFRaw is an above average RAW processor and the easiest way to get RAW images into Gimp.
Here's a screen shot of what happens when you, File | Open a RAW file with Gimp.

I have UFRaw 0.19.2 and I was wondering what version you have that is working with Gimp 2.8.14?

I have the same version of UFRaw Gimp plug-in & stand-alone in Linux.

I checked out the website, followed their instructions and it said I needed a dll that I copied from another directory and I am up and running! Woo Hoo! Thank You Muchly!!

There is a new project called PhotoFlow: https://github.com/aferrero2707/PhotoFlow, http://photoflowblog.blogspot.fr

It loads RAW images directly, editing is based on layers like with GIMP, and all tools work non-destructively (can be tweaked indefinitely). There is also a growing list of G'MIC filters that are directly integrated.

Maybe you'll find it useful.
