Ok..I did some playing in GIMP with my new tablet. Mostly just trying to get use to using the pen and gain more control. :lol I used the bucket, selection tool, brushes, smudge, and layer modes using my tablet's pen.

So here is my results same pic just different mode on some of the layers. :paint

Would love to see some more detail in the grass, as the Tree looks a bit more detailed

Great Job,
Willy

@ Willy

I did the trees, grass, moon, and stars (oreganian's) with a brush which is a picture of said item. So detail is sometimes difficult to create I have found with other things I have done. I was also trying to get use to using the pen so my accuracy and details are not very good yet either.

Mostly just playing and sharing my wacky results the good, bad, and the ugly. :rofl
Even though I feel I have less control than with the mouse right now it is easier on my hands and tendonitis. So that is a plus and one of a few reasons why I decided to try the tablet too.

Not to worry. :) Just fair warning that my work using the tablet and pen might be pretty scary for the time being. :lol

Actually did not figure I would be able to get one either since the ones I had seen were closer to $200 plus. I am hoping with time I can do more with mine the things I had read about and envisioned. :paint

I will keep my fingers cross that you will be able to get one too one day Willy. :coolthup
:tyspin for the comments too. :)

I will piddle some more tonight. Just finished pickling some eggs (chickens are laying like crazy) and looking up Bob Ross. I actually remember seeing some of his shows mostly because of his wild hair. :rofl

I need to check my maple taps the weather warmed back up and saps is flowing again. :wh

Wow, do you live in like the Hills of Vermont or something? Sounds pretty cool place to live, Chickens Maple Trees, but also a lot of work. :D

I think my Uncle might have an old one sitting around somewhere. I'll have to ask him, next time I see him.

Could you make some videos like Griatch does, if you ever feel the urge?

Look forward to seeing some more work,
Willy

I still feel as though I really don't need skates to have my dog "pull" me along... he gets enough exercise anyway just running around backyard as he is getting up there in the years.

Liana, got anything more to share with us?

@Willy..not sure if I would do a video/tutorial. One I probably don't have the equipment and two I am not that good. :rofl I don't live in the hills of Vermont I am more west like Minnesota "The land of 10,000 lakes. :fishing

@ Rod yay!! Then we get to see your art using a tablet and pen. :paint

I worked on the original picture I posted made some additions and changes. I used rod's animated flower brush. Thanks Rod it is really cool! :coolthup I really like that brush. :)

It is definitely easier to use in mypaint than gimp for me. I am still learning how the pen works compared to the mouse there is a difference especially with the brushes in GIMP.

I really like that sky scene! You could blow it up and put it on the ceiling of a Kid's room and they would probably like it :D

Would love to see some more,
Willy

I do believe if you edit your first post and change the Title you should be fine , and it will be named that, although the replies will not have that in there, until someone replies to that post :D
Hope this works,
Willy
