Haiiiii! I'm working on this small project I have affectionatly named "Take Me To Your Leader"...Basically all you do is shoot little cartoon alien ships right now, but I'm going to make it a little harder than that later on, for right now I'm just getting comfortable with it. I'm learning a lot in this game, though!

Funny thing is....I was messing with ideas but the stuff I was working with I didn't know what to make a game out of for the stuff I learned...then I saw the space art from Conbagui and was like THAT'S IT! :geek:
Thanks Conbagui! xD

Video - The graphics were killed on uploading. lol

Btw, any ideas for an "anti-point" something if you shoot it takes points instead of gives...?

More to tell later...!

Added health-bar/lives , a new point, an enemy, made the points smaller, and I've changed aspect ratio to 1000X600 instead of 800X600. So the game looks better and the size change gives me a way to make things a little more fun to play with along with adding buttons (like save game) within the game-play. Which gives me an idea for Tilly's Rose Garden......yeah...Anyways....

New Point -Image - This is animated but you'll have to see that in a video.
Lives - Image
Enemy - Image - Also animated but not a gif.

I also learned a cool feature called "tiles" which allows you to construct backgrounds without using objects...So I made a few planets to test:

Lastly, I've made a logo...for those who haven't seen it Click Here

That's about it...enjoy!

Next time it comes around, you should enter a game into the Ludum Dare contest.

It's a 48-hour game development contest (no prizes--just for fun). Basically, you create a game from scratch in 48 hours... or there's a 72-hour version that lets you start with whatever assets you have or can get.

The current contest is over; the next one is in August. There are three per year.

I've participated in two of them.

moko: wow, that's so cool! you're making space games now :)! i foresee a huge problem with this game though: everyone will think those alien space ships are far too cute to shoot on! i wouldn't dream of destroying them, they look so happy and ... cuddly? if you can say that about a spaceship. in any case the game is a treat to the eyes and you will learn heaps in making it. i hope you'll join in one of those competitions merrak mentioned, they sound like fun.

You figured out the alien's dastardly scheme! :rofl !
I haven't touched this one in a long time but I've learned some stuff with another project I'm working on right now so I might play with this one some more to update some things. :tyspin
