Dress up your images with beads. There are six different-colored brushes in the zipped file.

The individual beads in the image are full size and the strings of beads are 75% size.

Download the zip file, unzip the brushes and put them into your brushes folder.

@O:

You got me thinking about adding some charms to these beads. Digital scrapbookers love this sort of thing.

I have used these for all sorts things! This is a great set, and the purple one is my favorite.

Grabbed them, thanks. These will be fun. <amendment after reading this a day later. I meant my grand daughter will have fun with them. A 54 year old guy playing with beads doesn't seem right. But then i guess they would go well with my barbie dolls.

Let me know if you succeed. I would love it if you could get the charms to turn with a curve. We discussed turning beads here and here but I don't know how that would work with round and charm beads.

It looks like I'll need to make two separate runs. One that rotates (Rob's script does a nice job of that) and one that doesn't rotate. The best approach would be to run the rotation script first (multiple charms, for example) and then delete between them, stringing in different colored beads in the spaces (your set, for example).

Another possibility is to space the charm beads on a path and send them to GAP, grab the path, click Rotate Follow and then merge the resulting layers. You could draw beads between them.

Here are some Disco Beads I found here and cut apart. They are attached in an xcf file in layers. You can copy one, space about 100 and draw a necklace. They are larger than the Mardi Gras beads.

If you desaturate the silver beads, they look better. Here's a before and after image.

Good job! You got rid of the unwanted reflections of the other beads!

I took the liberties of cleaning up the colors and making them into brushes.

Thank you for doing that. You ninja posted me on that one. I have gone through mine and cleaned them up with colorize but yours are great. I did make a new green bead because I didn't like the one with the set. It's a png file and that can be downloaded.

Love your beaded gimp rocks image, Greg. :gimp

Hey 'O', you were my inspiration on this one.
