Maybe you need to remove the copy you now have for this one.
You can download it from my Dropbox account. The file was too large to upload here to Gimp Chat.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ovmsm735vgsgo ... y.zip?dl=0

Important: Let me know when and if you're able to download this file.

2ton- the Shine Alpha and Shine Logo are two of Graechan's plug-ins that require Beautify for some effects. In my GIMP (Windows) I have both of Graechans, plus Border, plus Beautify and Skin Whitening.

Looks like your GIMP version does not have the Beautify plugin.

EDIT ... looks like Wallace beat me to it :ninja

Since I use Partha's McGimp, where the plug-ins are built in, most plug-ins I add don't work...so I will contact Partha and ask about it. Thanks for the explanations, at least I know I am not imagining things, lol.

A plugin is a plugin, if it works for my Gimp 2.8.14... it'll work for you. Just be sure to remove the already installed Beautify plugin before you install the new one.

I was able to download the file from dropbox. I should have time tomorrow to see if I can get it up and running.

Sort of confused what goes where, between the gimp app folder and my user gimp folder. And why my shine script is what comes up under the filter beautify. Such mysteries!

I'm not a Mac user,
but I believe you should place pligins into your User Plugins Folder.

shine is a script-fu and should go into your user/scripts folder
it's menu location is Filters/Beautify
