Would it be possible to make a script that does what the plasma script does but in colors chosen by the user?

Perhaps make it so that it could use 2 or more colors?

I'm throwing it out there in case someone might be able to do it.

It sounds really hard to me but perhaps it would work.

Thanks!

You could try desaturating it then use a colour-map->gradient map to apply whatever gradient you want.

This will reduce the number of colours to 256, however.

That's such a simple yet effective solution.

I believe plasma 2 ( viewtopic.php?f=9&t=494#p4677 ) does this but I don't know if it works with Gimp 2.8

For Windows and GIMP 2.8 64 bit.
Courtesy of Samj! :)

Live test.

Forgotten all about plasma2. I've not added it to my GIMP since ol' Betsy died a year ago. I kept a folder of all the plugins and have been adding them one by one as I needed them. lol

Thanks for the reminder Erisian. :)

Plasma2 also works in linux and Gimp 2.8.14

As an alternative, remember there is a useful plasma filter in G'mic in the patterns section

Plasma2's advantage is being able to pick a gradient. They are all useful in their own way.
