I'm thinking I would love to use these as a background in a different form, lightened up a little bit.

Oh, man, what a collection. I love them all and hope I don't start seeing things in those blue spheres.

Stunning and elegant, PhotoComix.

This one, http://www.flickr.com/photos/photocomix_mandala/5002050850/, I think, is my favorite of them all - at least for the moment..

When I use mirror arrays, it distorts my images. So, I'm perplexed. Is this why G'MIC has the expand image toggle?

Do you hope that ? Sure ?
if don't see things there you badly need a good doctor and , i fear he will force you to wear very, very thick glasses.

I almost always use not even the expand but the repeat option:
do not expand correspond to scale down the original at 200%, should not distort but for sure will damage the quality, on the contrary mirroring by appending flipped duplicates mantain exactly the same quality of the original

well happy to show Oregonian favorite

Did you make that solely in GIMP? Looks like it has some sort of 3D program to create that effect with the Cement looking stuff

the original image (that is not mine but from http://www.flickr.com/photos/schmiegl/ ) is below ...and yes, was created with a 3D program( i believe Bryce )

Image
Kelp by Schmiegel [gone Deviant], on Flickr

i shamellessly admit that one of my favorite trick for successfully manipulation is start from excellent originals, even better if available at huge size and hi res

As many from schmiegl

PC I think I may have found something Funky with your script.
I am using an Orange Background with the color "ff8800" and whenever I run your Stained Glass Filter on it, it always changed Colors on me. I have tried it with a Black Line on it and a White Line and it always Lightens or Darkens.

you mean the Psychedelic Glasswork Tyler ?

1) could you try to set Opacity to 0 ?

2)And if still happen :
could you check if the same color shift would happen by using the Stained Glass filter? just try to run it on a duplicate of same original image and then confront

please let me know !
(better on the filter topic :lol )

I looked on the Normal Stained Glass and I do not get the Same problem. I also tried setting the Opacity to 0 on your script and it still gave me the same problem.

I am using 1 layer, in 2.7 GIMP, 1.4.8.3 G'MIC, with ff8800 for the Background and then just a Black Line randomly drawn in on the Same layer.

could you upload the xcf?
better if renaming first the layer with the original "original" (or even O )

Enjoy this was with Default Settings By the Way

I tried a few other settings but they all gave this same odd background color change
