Yes,Dinasset, I ran it again and got the error messages all 11 of them. I still had to change the \ for a / as well. But at least I got a result.Image

Kimba,
to try avoiding you to replace the slash each time you run the filter, I prepared an updated version of CrystallizeN where the slash characters have been removed.
A new parameter sets the gimp folder, the emaps folders have only your names simple, then the filter combine :
- the slash character appropriate to the platform (/ for Linux, \ for Windows)
- the gimp folder name
- again an appropriate slash
- the emap folder name
I tested it only on Windows (my system), so please could you try to test it under Linux?
Run it with the defaults (you have .gimp-2.8 so gimp folder default is OK)
Let me know
(obviously any other Linux user can test it, if he/she likes to)

The dialog screen is now way bigger than my screen. I have to use alt to move it. It stopped running and I had to cancel and close gimp.

Issabella - my word, you are very busy with GIMP right now; as always some excellent chrystal options with your chrysanthemum :hi5

Dinasset - I have finally got around to playing with your 'gift'; a photo from my garden passed though your filter then augmented (as you always recommend :) ) with some options both GMIC and OMG.

Pat,
using your BG layer and calling CrystallizeN with default I got this outcome:

it doesn't look so bad to me, given the source, but I let "stretch the colours" active

Thanks to you for your test.
Messages were wanted by me to have a kind of a trace.
I will remove them once all testers are OK with the use of the filter.
Now I have to shut down (midnight here).
Just wanted to get the voices from Australia before going to sleep.
Ciao

Dinasset: Thank you for checking. So, at some point the error messages will stop. Is there any way to control color. I was surprised at the red because they really wasn't red in the images.

At the moment CrystallizeN supports Windows and Linux (it detects those two platforms to appropriately define the slash-backslash use in the path.
If other users running other platforms like to extend the support, please tell me which one they use (name of the platform) and form of the directory separator (/ or \ or whatever else).
Sorry for my ignorance but at the moment I only know Windows (\) and Linux (/).
Thanks

Pat, you may extend the list of "coloured" gems used for the BRL (not the type, they are just seven: red, green, blue, yellow, turquoise, magenta, gray).
The filter uses the value/10 of R, G, B to select the type: so, if there is a prevalence of R it goes to the R group to look at at the closest emap in terms of luminosity (any level of brown has likely a prevalence of red). If you put additional emaps into the R folder you may force the filter to select another one; you may even replace all those that are in and insert only those you prefer.
