It seems as though since I've installed Windows 10 I am unable to find my Gimp folders. I can find the setup for Gimp, run Gimp and it works amazingly. I just can't seem to find the folders to add more brushes and what not. Any advice? :tyspin :tyspin

I can see mine in Windows 10 at C:\Users\Rod\.gimp-2.8 as well. May i ask if you are using a portable version of GIMP or an install?

I went to the website and did a direct download. I'm not honestly sure. :pengy

Edit: I found it. It wasn't there the other day, I uninstalled and reinstalled and they were there. Perhaps they went to another location? I'm not sure.

With Gimp open, go to Help >About Gimp.
This will display what version of Gimp you're using.

Also, if you go to Edit >Preferences >Folders.
This will show you all the locations of your user folders.
As well as the program folders.

When in Preferences, it should look similar to the image below.

With a full installation of Gimp for Windows, the user folders are always located in Windows Users folder.
The only exception, is with the Portable Gimp versions.
Which, by the way... should be installed on a flash drive and not one of the main drives.
Hence the Gimp Portable version type.

I came here asking the same question.

After confirming location under Windows 10 based on the other posts here, I discovered that GIMP creates the C:\Users\Username\.gimp folder after the first time it is run.

So if you just installed GIMP and cannot find the user folder, run GIMP and check again.

Hope this helps.

My W10 install script (no changes given) set Gimp into
C:/Program Files/Gimp 2/.... see the blanks! This is for All PC users (have 3)
And as other said extra info for "LOCAL user, me" users C:/Users/Peter/.gimp2.8/....
